EDRM Update – December 2015

EDRM Update
Issue 28 – December 2015

The EDRM community grew in exciting ways during 2015!

We saw a record numbers of new EDRM members, mostly from corporate and governmental legal departments and law firms but also from educational institutions and industry associations – a good sign that e-discovery is beginning the long-overdue transition from niche activity to mainstream undertaking.

In 2015 we refreshed a number of practical tools and resources, with the release of new data sets, calculators, and and sessions on the eMSAT maturity self assessment test.  A community-sourced library of articles and assets related to the FRCP Amendments is now in active use by members, too.

After 20 years of e-discovery, we are reminded again about the point of it all: moving a case to a satisfactory resolution by assembling a story and telling it in a compelling way. Our efforts to support the advancement of e-discovery through education, standards and metrics to support the advancement of e-discovery will continue in 2016, thanks to the skills and leadership of the EDRM member community.

Regards,

George Socha and Tom Gelbmann
